Why 96 Springs Instead of 100?

Although most 6 × 12 trampoline frames are designed for 100 springs, Rebound’s 2 String Bed uses 96 for three reasons:

1. Smoother Bounce: On a rectangular trampoline, springs should ideally be positioned slightly closer together at the ends than along the sides to produce a smoother bounce.
2. Optimized Spring Spacing: Smaller trampolines benefit from springs spaced farther apart to optimize the bounce. Removing four side springs helps achieve this while improving the relative spacing between the ends and sides.
3. Better Clearance Around Folding Frames: Many older folding 6 × 12 trampolines have leg bars positioned close to the bed at the four hinges. With modern beds that allow greater depression, this can create a safety hazard, increase spring wear and cause clanking. Although Rebound’s 6 × 12 trampoline frame addresses this problem, many clubs still use older frames. The four spring attachment points near the legs are therefore left unused.
